Upcoming Shows + Double LP

Hey all!

Welcome to the new ST 37 website and our first blog/news entry.

We have a show this weekend, yay! We’re playing at the Electric Church, a swinging new psychedelic temple on the east side. The lineup is pretty terrific – here are the deets:

Saturday August 19th

The Electric Church

5018 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, Texas 78702

10 pm. ST 37

11 pm. Studded Left

12 am. How I Quit Crack

1 am. Future Blondes

Studded Left is the new version of Indian Jewelry who we have a long history of playing with and loving. How I Quit Crack features ST 37 superdelegate Chris Cones and they are absolutely fantastic. Future Blondes need no introduction from us –  they feature former ST 37 member Carlton Crutcher, his lovely wife Sharon and a cast of thousands. Cover is $10, but the wonderful thing about the Electric Church is that there is always a keg and some free booze. There will also be DJs in between bands and a hella psychedelic light show. Come on out, we’d love to see you. If you’re on Facebook, please RSVP on our event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1897529173901729/?active_tab=about

Most of you already know by now that our new double LP “I’m not good” is out on the wonderful Yoshiwara Collective/Pariah Child label out of Northern Ireland. This lovely record is quite different than the CD that came out in 2015 in that it has been remastered for vinyl by the indomitable Mr. Sean Seagler and features a previously unreleased track called “Marina” which is dedicated to Lee Harvey Oswald’s wife. It is available postpaid in the US for $25. Please contact us for international shipping rates. We also have a few copies of our Twin Peaks themed split with Acid Mothers Temple left, but they are going fast.

In other news, we are deep into the mixing process on our new album, which is going to be called “Eponymous”. We have completed the tracks we begun in 2015 at Ohm Studios with Chico Jones and we are working on finishing up the tracks we did last year at 5th Street Studios with Evan Kleinecke. We hope this album will be out in the first half of 2018 on Self-Sabotage/Super Secret Records. We are also playing several shows in September –  on the 1st we’ll be at Rudyard’s in Houston, which we are looking forward to returning to as we have not played there in several years, at an event called the Bayou Psych Fest which has it a fantastic line up – more details on that as the date gets closer. We also have a show September 16th at the Nomad bar for a progressive rock series that our friend Brooke Wilton is putting on. Then, we’ll be playing The Pecan Street Festival in Austin on September 24th. We’re taking October off to finish up our work on the new album but in November we’ll be back with a bang! We have a residency at the Carousel Lounge every Thursday in November except for Thanksgiving, when the Carousel will quite sensibly be closed. We’ve never done a residency before so we’re pretty psyched –  more news on that as the booking process continues.

cheers,

yr pals at

ST 37
